Client Brief

The homeowners had recently updated much of their outdoor area but felt the alfresco section leading off the main living space still lacked a standout feature. They wanted a dedicated BBQ and outdoor kitchen zone that would make entertaining easier and offer extra storage and preparation space. Their brief was straightforward but precise:

Site Assessment and Planning

Terraform Landscaping began with an on-site consultation to measure the space, identify existing services, and understand how the clients intended to use the area. The alfresco section was partially protected from the elements but still exposed to moisture and coastal breezes. This made material selection critical.

Working with the homeowners, the team designed a built-in outdoor kitchen that positioned the BBQ centrally, framed by cupboards and drawer units for convenient storage of utensils, cleaning products, and cooking accessories. Construction and Installation

2. Custom Outdoor Cupboards
   Terraform fabricated outdoor-rated cupboards using weather-resistant materials designed specifically for Queensland conditions. Soft-close hinges, powder-coated finishes, and robust hardware were chosen for ease of use and long-term performance.

3. Bench Installation
   A premium stone-look benchtop was selected to complement the home’s existing palette. 4. BBQ Integration
   The built-in BBQ unit was set neatly into the benchtop opening, ensuring proper ventilation and clearance around all sides. The appliance sat flush with the surrounding benchtop, giving the whole structure a cohesive, custom-built look.

Finishing Touches and Client Handover

Once installation was complete, the entire outdoor kitchen was sealed, cleaned, and inspected. Terraform ensured all gas and electrical connections met compliance and were professionally certified. The cupboards and benchtop were treated with protective finishes, and the surrounding walls were patched and painted where required.

During handover, the team walked the clients through every element of the installation—showing them how to maintain the materials, clean the surfaces, and operate the BBQ safely within the outdoor kitchen setup.
